The Secrets Of The Library

Step into the library, quiet and grand,
A world of wonders at your command.
Shelves lined with stories, old and new,
A treasure trove waiting just for you.

In whispered hush, the pages call,
Tales of kingdoms, big and small.
Adventures bold and knowledge vast,
Every book a bridge to past.

Wander through the endless aisles,
Lost in thought and secret smiles.
A place where dreams and facts collide,
In every book, a world inside.

From ancient lore to future’s glance,
With every read, you have a chance.
To travel far, to learn, to grow,
In the library’s embrace, you’ll know.

So come, explore this haven bright,
A sanctuary of endless light.
For in each book, a story lives,
And endless joy the library gives.

Some weeks back we started some articles aimed at exposing 25 Commonly mispronounced words. Here is the concluding part  16. Curse/cause/course. Many Nigerians have a hard time distinctly pronouncing the words “cause,” “course,” and “curse.” They are all pronounced “kos.” British English speakers pronounce “curse” like “kes,” except that the “e” sound (which is kind of like the “e” sound in “met”) is long. Americans pronounce it “keRs,” also with a long “e” sound. “Cause” is pronounced “koz” with a short “o” sound (which is close to the “o” sound in “all”), and “course” is pronounced “kos” with a long “o” sound.
